about to get an svt-40 for 750 it has scopemounts and is in good condition, any thoughts?

Tigr
They're awesome rifles but even if they're scoped and such, they're far from sniper accurate. I have a 1942 Tula with an AVT stock which I was actually looking for since the AVT stock was heavier, sturdier than the SVT stock.

Fortis
Don`t know much about `em but saw one at a show a while back for $900. Mags seem like they`d be hard to come by & expensive.

Tigr
There were reproduction aftermarket mags but they didn't seem to work as good as the originals.

Petro
You only ned the one mag (hopefully Soviet). Get some stripper clips.
It's an awesome gun to shoot. I wouldn't trust my life with mine though.
EDIT:" actually, i have never run non-surplus ammo through.
Migh t run alittle better.

bart
i owned one.it was a 1942 tula not real accurate.but fun to shoot.the nut on the gas adjuster came loose on mine more than once.

Fortis
Are you supposed to keep the ammo light as w/ the psl(<150)?

Tigr
No, you can use heavy ball in them since it has a milled receiver and unlike the PSL, the SVT has a adjustable gas system.

Nac56
i got it no scope mount but it has rails and one of the first issue bayonets the dude havn't even fired it since he bought it, and the carrier is plum crazylol i feel good about it, all original except the bayo

If I remember correctly, a plum bolt carrier is a sign of a refurbished model.

Nac56
ya its a refurb but i think that makes it look more unique btw its an Ishevsk
however it has some interesting markings that i cant figure out what ther mean.:D

Nac56
just trying to get the pic up
