When the demand out strips the supply, you pay what the supplier wants. No merchandise = no sales and even higher prices when the goods are back for sale. I would rather have ammo & food, than the inflating dollars which are devaluing every day

I haven't bought much ammo in the past 2 years but before that ( well lets see )

there was 1960s and 1980s czech surplus 7.62x54R for 40 bucks for 880rds.
there was new Barnul 7.62x39 FMJ for 70 bucks per 1000.
there where 1260 rd boxes of SA .308 surplus for 10-11 cents a rd.
there was tarnished Argentine .308 surplus for 8 cents a rd.

I could go on but needless to say i live about a 1/2 hour drive from one of the vendors here and remember stopping in at his warehouse and seeing pallets of ammo stacked 3 high. as a guess i would say at one time around 40-50 pallets.
i remember seeing crate after crate of FAL kits there also, mosin-nagant rifles in big wooden boxes where you could hand pick a mosin-nagant rifle. it was one of those kind of places where the oder of cosmoline hung in the air and you simply didn't want to leave. god i miss the old days at Dans and yes i did ( stock up ) on my visits. :D

i remember 10 years ago me and a few others ordered 10 cases of wolf 7.62x39 from centerfire @79.00 a case with a cut on shipping for buying 10.the morning it arrived i heard the ups truck pull in and kplunk,kplunk,plunkplunkplunk,kplunk....that was a nice pile of ammo sittin in the porch for less than 900.00 delivered.i also bought cases of 308 radway green for less than 200.00 delivered.ahhh those were the god ol days stimpy.

What I'm really pissed about is missing all the good .308 stuff. I managed to buy 940 rounds of South African for 200.00, but that was at the end of the good days. Argentinean and Portuguese had dried up and the prices hiked just after I bought it.
I am considering trying to trade some 7.62X39 or 7.62X54R for some .308.

I got into this very late in the game and consider $.40/round for decent milsurp .308 to be the best deal I've seen. :sad_small

I have said it a thousand times, if people would stop buying the shit at these high-ass prices, they WILL come down. There IS NO shortage. Dealers went up on the prices (as they always do) soley because of the post-Obama panic buying (which was incredibly stupid in and of itself).

I would bet that everyone on this board, or most, have at least 500-1000 rounds stashed for most, if not each, of their weapons. You can only carry about 500 rounds and remain really combat effective anyway.

Stand back, remain calm, and wait. They will come down.

I haven't ordered any of these so I I don't know if they actually have them available but they are listed currently on their website. Certainly not $3 bucks... but perhaps still available?

I had some of those too. I don't think the ones ammo2go has are as good as those of old, but they might be fun. The ones I had had a hangtime of about 2 min or longer. And yes, they did light up the world.

Yesterday, I didn't hate you. Today, I hate you with the white-hot intensity of a thousand suns.

Nothing personal, just sayin'.

So who wants the ammo for combat? Me I just want to have enough, so that when I die, my grandson will inherit a few thousand rounds of ammo for the couple of guns he inherits. These guns are for fun. Nothing more.

I'm serious. These are ONLY for fun. Way back when I knew that 8mm was going the way of the dodo, so I bought enough to not run out.

These are the glory days of 5.45mm ammo. Buy it guys. You will want it later on.
