View Thread: Help mounting a 1P21 Scope on a PSL
Specter69
Just recieved a 1P21 scope in the mail today and I am wondering if anyone else has mounted one on there PSL. Also wondering what side rail to use on my PSL since the 1P21 doesn't slide on the mount for the standard 4x6 scope. I know Kalinkas has side rails but want forum members advise first.

Sorry I don't own a 1P21, so I can't give you "first hand" help, but I have seen many photos of 1P21's mounted on PSL's - so I know they'll fit.
Here's a link to mounting the 1P21 - scroll down to pages 3 and 4 ->

Both my 8x42 PSOP and spare mount required adjustments before I could make them fit my PSL... I'm sure others here who own 1P21's can give you better help, good luck.

Thanks Slick. I know that they go on this rail too. May just be over thinking it. I was expecting the scope to slide all the way forward on the rail instead of stopping half way.

I was expecting the scope to slide all the way forward on the rail instead of stopping half way.
In looking at the 1P21's - they always looked to sit further forward (in relation to the mount) than the other PSO/PSOP scopes. This makes me think there's a possiblilty that it's only intended to go only half-way forward so as to maintain proper eye-relief.
I also noticed in the specs that the 1P21 said it fits both AK and SVD type rails. I am totally unfamiliar with this type clamp, but as long as your scope slides on far enough for the locking lug to make full contact in gripping the rail - it should be plenty secure. I say slide it on as far as it will go, then see if the eye relief is proper. If so, then I'd think it's good to go.

I've done that and it slides on fine but only goes about half the distance that the standard 4x6 goes. That isn't the problem. The problem is where as the standard 4x6 seems to lock up top to bottom when you swing the locking lever, the 1P21 locks up totally different. There seems to be a need for a notch in the bottom rail. The locking lever has what I call a cam, being flat on one side to allow it to slide on, and a the other side is rounded causing it to lock tight when you throw the lever.

Yep, didn't read the instructions twice like the instructions said. Totally missed step four in the manual. Here's my sign!

Working? How's the eye-relief look?
