I dont know if this belongs here but I thought I'd give it a shot.(parden the pun)
What are the differences between steel cased Brown bear and Nato 308 as far as primers go? Is one harder than the other?
I was shooting Brown Bear 308 in my enfield 2a because the South African Nato would get stuck in the chamber and not extract.
The reason why I ask is after shooting the Brown Bear through the rifle, My son wanted to fire some of the German Nato plastic practice rounds (no recoil) So I loaded the rifle with them and they did not fire. I also noticed this with some of the Brown Bear rounds needing to fire them twice to get them to discharge.
I thought maybe the Brown Bear wore the firing pin down, or could it be something else? I recently Took the bolt and bolt head/extracter out and cleaned it.
Something must be causing the firing pin not to strike the primer(s) like it should.
Thanks in advance,
Craig
