I would say yes - A boat tail is a good thing. If there more info from the manufacturere - like a hotter burn or more FPS - trying to get a more stable flight path/tragetory. These would have selling points.
Bi metail - Full metal plated jacket - boat tail
Total metal jacket {??witch they probably are??} would be better.
Selling Points
* Bimetal - no lead vaporization - meets EPA regs -
* plated bullet jacket - more uniform jacket walls - less expensice to manufacter
** IF total metal jacket - less metal erotion/vaporization of any type {no lead} - some indoor or close quarter practice ranges want TOTAL METAL JACKET ONLY - no metal exposed at end of bullet.
* Boat Tail verses Flat end conventional bullet. Less wind Drag { especially at higher FPS} - More stable flight path - more accurancy. More like other current military bullets, so you get more LIKE proformance as more modern bullets. (1?)
(1?) In my opinion only - What the ???? I am talking about. If you have the M43 round and all these rifles out thare - change the round type to boat tail or the same type of bullet and the 5.45x39mm or .223 rounds. Maybe hint they are shaped like the other round and maybe you get more accurancy. ?? Maybe 1 to 2 inch group IMPROVEMENT at 100yards {wild ass guess}/

The Silver Bear 5.45x39 60gr FMJ has been around for a while now. I fired maybe 90 rounds of it at the range about a week ago with no malfunctions in a Bulgarian AK74.
Ammunitiontogo has had the best price I am aware of on it for a while now:
