What do you think about my Romanian?

Hey All,

Im new to the forums, seems like you got a good bunch over here.
Anyway, I just treated my Romanian WASR-10 to a nice new set of Tapco furniture. I would love to see what you all think.

A lot of people say I shouldnt have done it, because it "doesnt look like an AK anymore," but I just am not a huge fan of its traditional look.

I like the wood furniture myself,but the Tapco looks good too.The most important thing is that it shoots,everything else is basically cosmetic,a personal choice.

I must say that I LOVE the fact that I can adjust the stock length, and i also love that I have the vertical grip. It definitely makes it much more comfortable.

I'm more of a wood furniture AK guy myself, but that looks bad ass!!!

I'm just an ol' fogy anyways. As long as your rifle makes you happy, that's all that matters man.

AK's like Jeeps are ok stock or modified. If you don't like a gun the way it is or it isn't fun or comfortable to shoot you might as well not have it.

Kinda looks like a working mans gun.

To tell you the truth I like it.

learn how to shoot and maintain ur weapon

Well, I had had the Romy for about 3 years now, it was time for a change to her. Swabbie, no worries bud, I have about 4,000 rounds or so stocked up :-P

I guess the reasons I didnt like the wood were because A)it just looked crappy, and B) wasnt really feeling the "Commie" look...

Go with what you like! All my AKs have folding stocks, black plastic furnature, flash hiders and receiver sights.

As long as YOU are happy, then it is all good! I personally like the 'commie wood' look, in fact, mine has Soviet enameled hat pin emblems and Kalashnikov medallions inlaid into the 'commie wood' stocks. Once again..its just a personal thing.

But I mounted a EOTech 512 quick target acquesition scope, a green laser and to surefire P6 lights, one with a red filter, so f**k 'em. And I put a Hellfighter red laser and light on my Romy underfolder, and am going to mount a LaRue on it. But eventually I'd like a Russian red "classic" with nothing mounted on it, just the wood stock and foregrips.

Not a fan of M4 stocks on anything but M4s but I think your forend and vertical grip are TIGHT!

I question the sexuality, intelligence, fecal continence .. of anyone who puts m4 furniture on their ak. Quickly get rid of it before someone sees.. you can hide it at my house... send it to...

I tought EOTech's were designed for M4 platforms and even then, they come adjusted for different calibers, and to my knowledge they don't make one for the AK platform, so my question for you Bascot, is why would you install a very nice and expensive red dot scope when it isn't mean't for it?

Because it works. I've got the EOTech and the green laser zeroed at 50 yards, with a green dot in the red dot, and the bullet follows. Regardless of whether it was manufactured/designed for the job, it works.

Well that's good to know. I never bought one because of my formentioned conerns. I will definitely have to get one now.
