Well i tried to start a thread on this but it got messed up.
anyways, Anybody have experience with russian military surplus blanks in 5.45x39? These arent crimped, but have a white plastic looking tip. Does the tip disintegrate thru the BFA?

I got a bit of experience with them. They are not crimped. They have a hollow PVC plastic tip for feeding. The "bullet" does burn up in the bore and the BFA catches anything left over. I've used them with both a issue adapter and a home-made Hollywood set-up. The drawbacks are sometimes the plastic will break on feeding and cause a jam and the horrid smell of burnt plastic after firing. Your old lady will demand you clean the thing outside for sure. The things are dirt cheap though. I bought several thousand rounds and they're fun on New Years and the 4th. I'm looking at the idea of cutting them down and using the case to form 9mm Steyr blanks.

I can find them for a bit less than 10 cents a round shipped... thats if i buy a case of 2100 of them :/
dans ammo has them, is there anywhere else you know of?

As of late, Dan's is the only place I've seen them.
