View Thread: Anybody in Illinois know about FOID cards?
Weezy
I applied for my card nearly four months ago, paid 20 dollars and all. As of yet i have no idea where it could be. Does anybody have any idea what i should do? Why does it take so long anyway? Im tired of waiting, this is bullshit.
Gunnuts
It's only supposed to take 30 days, although last I heard it was taking around 60. It should only cost $10. Did you pay someone to do the photo and paperwork for you?
Questions may be directed to the ISP FOID section by phone at 217-782-7980 between 8:30a.m. and 5:00p.m. CST Monday through Friday.
I agree the whole FOID thing is bullshit.

Yeah i paid the guy for the photo. It has definitely been more than 60 days though. Id rather not try to deal with the ISP im sure it will be a huge headache, but i guess i might just have to. Damn.

Mine came back in less than 30 days, but that was last August, before the post election buying/collecting frenzy.

I did that for my first one, too.
Can't hurt to ask (politely as hard as it may be). Maybe it got stuck under something on someone's desk or something.
Hope they're not dragging it out this long for all of them. Mine is due in November....at that rate I'm already late. :headbang:

FOID cards are only for non-gangbangers...the gangsters don't worry about incidentals like laws :>)

There are only two or three states that have these cards. They are retarded. I have one from when I lived in IL, but I am in the promised land of TX now. I got the card years ago during the glorious George W years. I know if you put on the application you are active duty military it takes a week or so, but for normal people they may as well be gangbangers according to the state police, so it takes 30 days or whenever they put down thier donuts and process your app.

I just renewed mine. Turnaround time was 34 days.
