View Thread: My Vz-58 build

Pvt.Joker
I finally finished up my VZ-58 project. It's an ORF receiver and muzzle brake, the steel US trigger from the group buy here, the US gas piston from APEX, the sear, disconnector and various small parts from Czechpoint, the folder from an eBay auction, the extra mags, pouch, bayonet and cleaning kit from Centerfire, and custom Duracoat job from a friend's shop.

It has been an interesting project, and as you can see from the above posts, challenging at times. But in the end, I am happy so far with how it turned out and am looking forward to getting a chance to take it to the range and see how it shoots.

That is one fine looking job Joker...Just wait until you drive it. They have more of an SKS feel to them when firing..More smooth than an AK. Enjoy.

I still want one of those.

Very nice Joker! I was at a local show a couple of weeks ago and saw one on a table. My Dad was about 10 feet from me checking something else out and I said "Hey Dad check out this VZ" The vendor piped in and said "That isn't an UZI sir" I can see how he mistakingly thought I said UZI, But it gave Dad and I a good laugh anyway!

Good job, looks good. I have done a few builds and know it is never as easy as it seems. Hope you get some rest and then hope it works. Congratulations
