AMD 65 Folder Problem

I have a Tantal and a young guy I know just bought an AMD65. He told me the folding stock won't open. I don't want to give him bad advice, so I was hoping someone here had an idea.

What is the process for opening (unlocking) the stock?

Could it just be very tight?

Grab it and yank. It only locks in the open position, to unlock it when open just push on the big screw head to release. Make sure someone didn't weld it in the closed position to make a pistol out of it. If the bbl isn't extended past 16" this is most likely the cause.
