How reliable is brown bear ammo? 7.62x39

goes bang everytime.

BB and SB are the same except for the coating on the steel case and both are excellent ammos. I don't like the SB for long term storage because the zinc coating has a tendency to break down over time and get kinda chalky even in the best of conditions. Personally I like the BB lacquer coated X39 ammo the best.

very reliable.

Get the FMJ bullet loads, not the JHP bullet loads. JHP's rarely feed properly.

I have shot all the "bears" and prefer them to Wolf for overall accuracy and reliability. I have heard good things about Golden Tiger though but have yet to try any. All my AK's both the 5.45 and the 7.62 guns have never bitched at all with the Bear ammo...ymmv

The Golden Tiger X39 ammo shoots just a little more accurately in both my SKS rifles than the BB. I hate the purple sealant on the GT thought,it tends to get into everything,so if I'm buying Russian I go with the Bear ammo.

Same here. I prefer the BB over the wolf anyday. Haven't tried the Golden Tiger yet. What is the purple stuff on it and what is it for?

I got it res45. I didn't see it in your post at first.

Brown Bear works fine for me. I've only shot it in 308 tho. Use it in my FAL's.

Both are top of the line for commersial ammo, both are made by Barnaul so there is no difference between them.Barnaul makes their self titled brand "Barnaul",then there is Silver Bear,Brown Bear and Golden Bear.

+1 on the Bears over Wolf. I am not bashing Wolf it goes bang every time. A member did a test a few years back with the silver bear (zink) coated and if memory serves it rusted over night when exposed to condensation. The golden bear seems to be more accurate out of my rifle. "Sub Minute Of Man"

I've only used Wolf Military Classic HPs and they feed fine every time in my Yugo M70!

I'll stick with the Wolf Military Classic. I've never had a problem with it. It feeds fine, and is accurate.

I just go with the best price at the time. HP and FMJ feed 100% from my M70 ab2,accuracy is comparible between the brands. Just hope the price gets back down to a more affordable level.

I had been shooting alot of wolf and saving my silver bear for reserve.
Well I shot a mag of the silver bear the other day and I must say that the silver bear seemed hotter and was more accurate than the wolf. So yeah I like the bear stuff. I also have some golden bear but haven't shot any of that yet.

??
The "purple stuff" is primer and bullet sealant, applied to keep moisture out of the cartridge.
