IF my crutch looks like a rifle, what danger am I exposed to?

I have to use one canadian crutch on my left side permanently to get around. I sprayed it matte black a couple years ago to test out some coating durrability, that's all, no wood stock or AK handgrip or anything, just black paint. While I was walkin through a mall in Sacramento, having just delivered a bunch of custom displays to a crazy, whacked out, unreasonable, middle eastern business owner, I was stopped by mall security. I was only using the crutch to walk with, not shouldering it like a weapon! From a distance of 15 yards a guard yelled at me to FREEZE! DONT MOVE! PUT DOWN YOUR WEAPON! I admit, it scared the crap outta me. He pointed his RADIO at me like a gun... bad move. I was once in a former life a security guard, I could tell you all kinds of hair raising stories, got shot at more than once... but I know the rules too. What was this moron thinking? Now I see the latest mall cop remake 'observe and report' and see the jack ass in the movie pull the same crap! Somebody should inform these guys that they are only citizens, and carry the Californiastan guard card that cleary only allows them to OBSERVE AND REPORT! Anything more is on their own creds, my crippled butt could have easily taken this guy down and made a fool of him, but that's not my style. I calmly continued walking out to my truck while this bone head repositioned himself several times before giving up and disapearing.

If that had been LE officers I would have instantly complied and explained that it was a crutch, and all would be well, I think.
What am I open to here? Should I paint my crutch blaze orange (or maybe just the tip)?

I just got a great deal on Rguns for a russian crutch! I'm starting to worry however that the 2160 case of russian crutch tips might cause the ATF to knock on my door.

should have fetched his supovisor and threatened to sue under ada. what a dildo. the worst part is that half these mall rambos are moonlighting cops.
one of the absolute funniest things i've seen in my life was an old drinking buddy of mine with only one leg, hopping up and down as he beat 2 guys nearly to death with his crutch. by the time he was tired out there were like 20 people watching including the 2 cops that responded to the call.

maybe you should paint the tip safety orange like an airsoft gun.

Yeah... but it's a 'Canadian" crutch, so technicly I think the crutch itself is imported too. I'm not so much worried about the crutch itself as the 2160 quantity russian crutch tips I ordered from Rguns... I think the ATF will visit me any day now!

if you keep the pistol grip you need a mag lock.

Why would the ATF care what your crotch looks like?
