View Full Version : AMD Pistol Grips
I'm working on a couple of AMD builds and looking for cheap and original looking US made pistol grips for them (parts count, you know). I guess that really is two questions. 1) Anyone sell US made grips that look like the AMD ones? 2) If I can't have that, who has cheap US AK grips. I remember buying some for, I thought, $5 or so but can't remember where. I need 8 or 10.

www.riflestocks.com sells 'galil' style us made grips which kinda look like amd grips. I have never seen amd grips in person so i really wouldn't know if they are similar but they kinda look alike.
dang, those Gaili grips are just about identical... I like those FAL styled AK grips too. Now all I must do is convince the wife I need to replace the grips on my SAR1, WASR, and the AMD 65.

I have the galil grip from ace on my mak90 and it's ok. It's pretty sturdy. Maybe you got a bad one jay. BTW Jay was correct they are cutout for the galil thumb safety (like a fal grip).

go with a peice of walnut. the profile would be a peice of cake to replicate, and the screw could be a full length, or rebated in a counterbore. i had a hard time finding a long metric, so i welded a 6(?) mm to a 1/4" pan head bolt to get the length i needed.

The Hungarian grip is thick and very comfortable. At one time FAC sold a Chinese wooden grip that was almost identical.
A home-built grip is a US part, remember.
