Is there any difference between magazines? Like if I order magazines for yugo or hungarian, will they work in my bulgarian AK? How about korean or chinese? And also are the 40 rounders reliable? Again, korean or Hungarian?

All AK47/AKM/AK74 mags are the same, regardless of country of origin.
That is the reason for standardization agreements.
OTOH, If you buy a US made mag, all bets are off.
Be careful to buy "military surplus" for best results.
Korean 40 rounders? Ask yourself: Has South Korea ever issued the Kalashnikov?
Answer: No
Ergo, the South Korean 40's must be commercial (and not milspec/milsurp)

He's right...avoid commercial after-market products and use military issue hardware!!
You cannot go wrong with blued Chinese 30rd* and stand. Eastern Bloc countries. Aside from waffle mags like Bulgarian or Polish, the following are great quality:
-Yugoslavian 30-rd magazine (BHO)
-Russian ("razor-spine")
-Bulgarian steel
-the Tanker 20-rd like Hungarian are great for bench rest shooting.
*ft note: The Chinese blued, ribbed mags have BHO activators in followers and mag design. I've used them on the range and noticed this first hand.

Chinese 40 rounders work great.

So do Yugoslavian mags.
