View Thread: Krink flash hiders...

I bought the Krink FA and it came with the closed flash hider that looks like a bell..maybe. But everyone said you need to get rid of that one and find the 4 piece flash hider, so I did..But when I test fired the original flash hider I was pleased with the whole gun, accuracy, rate of fire, controlability, etc.. Then I went back a week later and test fired with the 4 piece flash hider. The rate of fire was slower, it didn't seem to provide as much compression internally to assist the cycling action. My groups weren't as tight and controlability on FA was not as good as with the krink flash hider. I'm thinking that when they designed this weapon, they did so with that flash hider because of the shorter cycling action it needed more internal compression, hence that hider seems to build a bit more compression for the blowback of the piston. Can somebody throw some light on this idea/theory? I put the original krink hider back on and decided to test fore some more..on another day.

Thats pretty much it.... :)

as far as I know the 4-pc was designed for the 7.62x39 round.

I think your Krinkov is 7.62 Bulgarian parts on a Chinese receiver. I think the early Bulgarian 7.62 Krinkov's were made with the standard Krinkov flash hider which is also a muzzle booster. The later 7.62 Bulgarian Krinkov's use the 4 piece device. I don't know if they changed the gas port for it.

Yes, it is a 7.62, and judging from the difference, I'd say it's a muzzle booster. I don't think the gun needs it to function..by any means. But I do think it runs better with the original krink flash hider, which seems to be a booster.
Does anybody know what the purpose/function of the 4 pc was?

The 4 piece is to cut down on muzzle blast (sound and flash) in 7.62x39 and 5.56x45. It adds a lot of weight to the end of the barrel too.

It did do that. With the original it has a 3-4 foot flame tongue (which I don't mind at all). But with the 4 piece it cut down on it significantly. I can see why, for tactical reasons, that 4 ft flame tongue would be a bad thing. But for recreational shooting it definitely brings up the WoW! factor.
