What if the posts/thread are deleted will they still count? My best guess is that if a thread is deleted by its author, your post count does not change, but if you delete your own post, the count decreases. If a Mod deletes a post, I don't have a clue. All this probably depends on how defaults have been set by the administrator.

BTW, I have no intention of deleting this thread...
...it will live on in infamy! :D

The pic you want to post should be in your documents "Save pic as" then
at the bottom of Post a Reply it reads "manage attachments" click on that then click on "browse" it should show you all of "your pics that are "saved" Double click on the pic that you want to post then click on attach pic (or it's worded something like that.) then click on "post reply" UH that how I been doin' it.

I don't describe this very well cause I'm a computer illiterate :sad_small

Trixie
11-03-2003, 10:38 AM
...the "how to" of posting photographs...If you're a contributor, you can use the "Manage Attachments" just above the "Submit Reply" key, then click on "Browse" and find the file on your PC. If you have pictures hosted on other servers, click the icon that looks like a postcard of Mt Fuji just above the "Your Reply:" input field, then insert the URL for the pic, and click Mt Fuji again to close ([/IMG]) the image tag.

A communication technician drafted by the army was at a firing range. At the range, he was given some instruction, a rifle and 50 rounds. He fired several shots at the target. The report came from the target area that all attempts had completely missed the target.

The technician looked at his weapon, and then at the target. He looked at the weapon again, and then at the target again. He then put his finger over the end of the rifle barrel and squeezed the trigger with his other hand. The end of his finger was blown off, whereupon he yelled toward the target area: "It's leaving here just fine, the trouble must be at your end!"

Four surgeons were taking a coffee break and were discussing their work.

The first said, "I think accountants are the easiest to operate on. You open them up and everything inside is numbered."

The second said, "I think librarians are the easiest to operate on. You open them up and everything inside is in alphabetical order."

The third said, "I like to operate on electricians. You open them up and everything inside is color-coded."

The fourth surgeon said, "I like technicians...they always understand when you have a few parts left over at the end..."

You Might Be a Technician if...

you have ever tried to repair a $15.00 radio.

you think of the gadgets in your office as "friends."

you think your computer looks better without the cover.

you have ever purchased an electronic appliance "as is."

you have ever saved the power cord from a broken appliance.

you think jokes about being unable to program a VCR are stupid.

the salespeople at Circuit City can't answer any of your questions.

the microphone at a meeting doesn't work and you rush up to fix it.

you have a neatly sorted collection of old bolts and nuts in your garage.

you own a set of itty-bitty screwdrivers and you actually know where they are.

you just don't have the heart to throw away the 100-in-1 electronics kit you got for your ninth birthday.

you have never sat through an entire movie without having at least one device on your body beep or buzz.

transfered from the fal filesquote:I just got back to the house witha bottle of !2 year old Bunnahabhain ($31.99 on sale) and a bottle of 15 year old Glendronach ($48.99). I sure hope the wife doesn't check the credit card bill too closely !! I'll try them both over the next couple of days. You know. The "pursuit of knowledge in the interest of society" thing.

Mission accomplished
Both are excellent, Sweet on the tongue, light spicy finish, and almost no smoke taste.
(I know, I know, I'm no connoisseur, but I know what I like!!)

Veterans' Day

...a celebration to honor America's veterans
for their patriotism, love of country,
and willingness to serve and sacrifice
for the common good.

"Let us solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly,
on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom,
and let us reconsecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace
so that their efforts shall not have been in vain."
--Dwight D. Eisenhower

"...we honor our veterans who made contributions,
not just to the defense of our Nation,
but to the character of our country... "
--George W. Bush

And the bravest of the brave:

Read them and weep for the bravery, daring and sacrifice represented in the citations.
These heroic acts were made for you and me; our pasts, our presents, and our futures.

Feb 2000 - President Clinton awarded the Medal of Honor to Al Rascon, a Mexican-born Army medic who covered his fellow soldiers with his own body to protect them against a grenade attack during the Vietnam War. Rascon was recommended for the Medal of Honor just days after the 1966 skirmish in Vietnam's Long Khanh province, but the award got caught up in what Clinton called "a thicket of red tape."

"Thank you for looking out for people when no one else could be there for them. You have taught us once again that being American has nothing to do with place of birth, racial, ethnic origin, or religious faith. It comes straight from the heart. And your heart, sir, is an extraordinary gift to your country," said Clinton.

Rascon, noting that the honor belonged to the people who were with him that day, asked the survivors to stand and be acknowledged at the White House. "What you see before you is common valor that was done every day. And those of you who served in the military -- and continue to serve in the military -- are very much aware of that. What you do every day, it is duty, honor and country. And I'm deeply honored to be here," Rascon said.

Day is done,
Gone the sun,
From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky,
All is well,
Safely rest,
God is nigh.

Fading light,
Dims the sight,
And a star, gems the sky, gleaming bright,
From afar,
Drawing nigh,
Falls the night.

Thanks and praise,
For our days,
Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky,
As we go,
This we know,
God is nigh.
