View Thread: Mounts that center over the bore.

Of all the mounts that Kalinka or some other retailer sells which ones actually center the optic over the bore?

Other then the BP02 that is.

The cheap Leaper/UTG one with a lever not screws. Usually it's about as much money and may work alright for some things. It's about $40. There is also a very expensive Molot "Vepr" rail that mount the scope forward or at least moves the rail forward of the side rail.

When I ordered a scope from Kalinka, I noticed they had an SVD mount in their "bargain bin" that has a 1913 rail for mounting your choice of scope. The advertisement said the mount "centers" over the bore. When I tried it on my rifle, it was still not all the way centered, but I got a great deal on it and it had just a tiny little scratch from where a screwdriver slipped when it was assembled. I'm still perfectly satisfied with it - but feel that folks should know that while it's closer, it's still not a "fully centered" mount.

I have a mount like the one from Slick.( I bought it for my PSL as well) I've not mounted it yet but I was wondering about using some of the millet angle lock rings on it. Does anyone have any experience with them? From what I've read I was wondering if you could adjust them to try to move the scope over center. I don't know how much adjustment there actually is with the rings.

This one looks OK on my rifles (Saigas).
