Alright only one is made in Russia but the other 3 are clones of Soviet arms. The AK74 just arrive today. Looks wonderful!

real nice collection :)

just need a AKS-74U :)

I swapped out that cheesey plastic handguard on my TIGER with a soviet laminated one.....it really makes the rifle 100 percent nicer

What, two Tigers!! :uhoh_smal Very nice. I don't care for my handguards either but I want the SVD vented plastic handguards instead. I like the two tone look of the laminated buttstock and plastic handguards. :small_gri

An AKS-74U would round out the collection nicely. But I figure it would cost around $1500 for a quality build and SBR permit. Not sure if it is worth it to me or not. Neither my RPK or AK74 (both custom builds) are worth what I have into them. Both cost a crap load to have built. Don't get me wrong, they are both great rifles but I just cannot get out of them what I have in them. Factory built guns seem to hold value better IMO.

love the rpk! z-recta does some nice work. i was wondering what a set of svd furniture would look like after he got through with it.I like the 74. does that have the threads on the FSB? i beleive this is legal on any gun because they dont consider this as the barrel being threaded even if the gun isnt 922 compliant. the 545x39 is a nasty round. i was tearing up some pumpkins with it one day and it i was impressed at the mess it made. plus the rifle has practical zero recoil. nice collection!

Hey Phil
Thanks for the complements. Z_recto is 'da man' at refinishing Soviet furniture. If I keep the Tiger, most likely will, I may send him my buttstock. Currently it is so dark you can hardly see the laminated.

I shot the 74 for the first time this weekend. I'm very impressed at the performance of it and the 5.45x39 in general. The recoil is so little you can blow through a lot of ammo before you even realize it :) The Bulgarian mags fit very snug. A lot more precise than any other AK that I have held. However, I can not get the East German bakelites to work. The mag catch is not catching them.

The AK74 is built using a Bulgarian kit, OOW receiver, RSA trigger, US gas piston, & US muzzle break. I'd like to get a PK-AS for it sometime down the road. BTW, it does have the threaded FSB.

:) Mbakercad - yes you do have some nice items - I traded off a RPK kit to a friend awhile back, and another friend got me another one,not long after-in very nice all matching condition,I would like to have it flipped into a "real player"-Useing the original front trunion-Did you do that with yours?-Also what was the cost of the work that you did on your RPK.If you would like you can email me--sincerely-Frenchy :)

Looks great! Is that a NDM or SVD?

Do you do much range time with it? If so, what kind of groups are you seeing? I'm just starting my first venture into precision shooting. To date I never did much other than blast cans, jugs, and cardboard :small_gri
