View Thread: Krink folder question

I just bought a Bulgy Krink pistol, and would like to know how much I should expect to pay my gunsmith to install a triangle (correct) folding stock. Also, where can I find one to purchase? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

there is no set price that gunsmiths charge, each gunsmith will charge whatever he feels is approperate to do that kind of work.......... but I would hazard to guess it will cost you more then 100 bucks to do that kind of work, as it's not a simple task
BTW, in order for you to put a stock on that pistol, you will have to do a form 1, pay a 200 dollar tax, to have it registered as a short barrel rifle (SBR), then wait for the approved form 1 to come back.

looks like Kvar has the russian side folders in stock.

Are all the triangular folders the same? Or are Krinkovs different than full size AK74s. Do the different countries models interchange?

Nothing special about a Krinkov folder versus the parent 74 folder. However, the two Russian and Bulgarian versions do differ a little. The angle at the rear of the trunnion/receiver is a bit different, and the hinge pins came in two sizes. There are also "rolled" and "non-rolled" stocks struts, but that's just cosmetic and only of concern for "correctness" of a build. AFAIK, as long as the pin sizes match, you can mix trunnions and stocks. I think all the receivers and flats are angled for the Bulgarian, if you use a Russian trunnion it doesn't quite match but will function.
