Pretty much like this conversion, only easier.

The 308 is easier than the others, no holes to drill. Replace the trigger set and remove the trigger guard in reverse order of course) install the new grip and stock and go shoot. On the one I did I had to cut a hole for the pistol grip nut.

After you convert it you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. The trigger is much better and it is much more comfortable to hold and shoot.

Whhen replacing the fire control fgroup you'll need one made to clear the 308 Saiga center support (made by Red Star Arms) or grind clearance in the hammer if you use a Tapco FCG. There is a guy that sells Tapco FCG's modofied for the 308 Saiga. If the square pistol grip holes has to be added, when it's cut it overlaps the slotted hole for the original trigger.

The fire control group either needs the hammer ground to clear the center support of you can buy they already modified. There is another website with small instructions and the guy sells the parts.

The 308 disconnector spring is usually to big for the Tapco fire control group. Some people thin it but if you can get a replacement AK one that would be best.

The rivet head inside the receiver may get in the way of the trigger. You need to remove the outside of that rivet anyway. You may need to grind the inside head flat or just remove the whole thing. This may or may not be an issue.
