Howdy guys,
I am VERY close to becoming part of the CL III crowd... However, I am in desperate need of a "Form 4/Living Will for Dummys" explaination... Can someone help me here?
I am essentally starting from scratch and it is an in state, private transfer, no dealer is necessary...
I know I need a NEW or modern Form 4, signature from City Police chief, and fingerprints... I just haven't been able to piece all of the critical items and there order together to completely understand what's going on to avoid pitfalls and retracking...
I also know living wills are an option but after all this, Form 4 or Livinig Will, I also know it's not a VOILA and all this paperwork goes to the full auto fairy and poof my gun appears in front of me....
Discussion by way of PM fine but I need to see some good hard facts and in an easy to digest format...
If one of you can help, I would be in debt to you, and have a Cuban cigar and/or good belgian beer waiting for you if you ever visit Austin, TX...

I think you have Living Will And Revocable Trust Confused.
Trust need NO CLEO Signoff
Or Fingerprints Nor Does an LLC A Certificate Of Compliance is still needed though
panzertruppe
Pleez help to explain LLC of Compliance(in best russian accent),
I think I understand the diff though, thnx... I got a pretty good explanation earlier today from CL III holder conerning Form 4 and was pretty adequate... Need to get my hands on the Form 4s now and everything else...
Keep it coming if you know more about the Revocable Trust...

Corporations and trusts are essentially "fictional people" under the laws of the US, they can own property such as NFA firearms. As a fictional person they don't require the local law enforcement signoff a real person has to have to get their form 4 approved. Many local LEOs refuse to sign, so incorporating or forming a trust gets you out of this requirement.
A certificate of compliance is just another form that has to be submitted along with the form 4, required for corps and trusts as well as real people.

Sorry Steve,
My name is Steve too!:)
Had a misfire w/ this guy in past, but we bumped into ea other and he TOLD me to call him. He returned my calls THIS time and we going to seal the deal... Meeting him Mon to start process on FA G3. He's going to sell it to me for 4K....
I know, sounds to good to be true, I am taking all the precautions necessary... He's LEO so he stands to get crushed if it's bogus... He doesn't mind me looking at it thoroughly, my gun guy is going w/ me to check it out, and I am now familiar w/ the form 4 process to seal the legal extent of it.... Hopefully I get it all rite the first time to get the gun ASAP...
Wish me luck and thnx for help...
Oh yeah Col, I got the skinny on the trust as well and thnx for the input too!

$4K is about $6K too cheap - I bought a Fleming registered rcvr G3 for $10K, 5 yrs ago. They sell for $10-13K now, $10K being an impulse seller who needs instant cash (medical, bail, ransom)

SBR only (no sear or sear pack):

It's only meant as a guide for comparison
Who did the conversion? Look at his Form 4 with your own eyes and see that the numbers match. If he won't let you see it, it's bogus. Rip-off deals are tragedies within the NFA community. I would be more than leary because like they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.....is the seller an eloquent talker? Is he aware this would be your first NFA purchase?
Not to blow your bubble but it sounds like a scam. In the NFA world nothing is a steal unless it's from an unaware widow - and that comes out too, in the end
Only trying to be of good influence -

Do Not Take ANY Cash With You To This Meet!!!!! Take an Legally Armed Friend Or Two. This doesn't even sound remotely Legit and remember Claiming He Is A LEO IS Worth Nothing. Please Be Carefull And Pick A Well Established Gun Shop To Do The Inspection At.

a FA G-3A2 runs about 13-15K PT,H&K that is.something ain't right here bud.don't give him ANY money up front at any point in the process.like El Paso said.nothing in the FA world is cheap or overlooked, for very long...

Here's a transferrable registered receiver G3 that popped up today for $10K. That's about as cheap as they come nowadays. The trigger pack can not be legally removed for use in other HK's because it is a registered receiver, instead of a 'sear gun'.
