View Thread: Woohoo! Got the SKS-M

No pics right now, but it is a nice 1993 made SKS-M with the blonde thumbhole stock. Also got a spare thumbhole stock, spare trigger assembly, spare bolt carrier, two five round AK mags, and two 10 round AK mags, all of chinese origin.

I'll try to get pics up tonight or tomorrow. I'm happy with my new toy. Had to sell my Rusty Romy G parts kit and US build parts to get it, but can always go after a new AK build.

Thinking about adding a muzzlebrake to this. I'm guessing since it is allowed one evil feature in addition to the removable mags, and in 1993 the thumbhole stock was not considered evil, I could put a threaded muzzle on this?

I'd have trouble leavin that fugly thumbhole stock on it,but I went thru the same things with my Uzi :laugh_sma

The one evil feature was the now gone AWB in reference to assembly. The SKS still has to meet import restrictions if more than 10 counted imported parts, so a threaded muzzle was part of the still current 1989 import ban. For "import" no evil features are allowed so parts counts is required for any evil feature. Threading an SKS and a muzzle brake on an SKS doesn't help much and keeping the threads tight can be a problem. The threaded muzzle would require meeting the parts count as it is not an importable feature.

If only it came with a spare barrelled receiver, too.......

Whaaaa Hooooo! That sounds like one sweet, sweet deal. If you ever feel like you have too many spare parts, you know where to find me!

Congrat's Lib. I saw one at a shop in Tenn. for $480.00. I would like to have one someday, but after the 2 SKS's last weekend my gun money is way gone!:p

You have an UZI Swabb? That's one gun I've always wanted but have yet to get one. I remember in high school when reading an SOF magazine you could get an Israeli in the box for $400.00. Makes me want to cry!:cry_small Guess i'll just have to settle for my Cobray M-11.
