Is it legal to ship an AK 47 parts kit sans reciever to Kal? what about a suomi which has the open bolt, auto trigger parts kit?? I cant seem to find any definative info on parts kits. it seems the onus is on the reciever of the kit to build a legal weapon! Chief

By law, parts kits are junk.

Don't send any mags over 10 rounds either.

The search is your friend (this exact question was just asked last week).

You can send any parts kit to CA. You can disassemble a hicap mag into parts and ship them to CA. FA parts don't matter one bit. I think only WA has that FA parts BS. You can send any receiver into CA. You CANNOT send any semi-auto centerfire rifle that is listed by make and model on one of the banned lists into CA (the lists also include named pistols and shotguns).

Check out the CALGUN forum. The legal cevtion has a lot.

The CA builder has to omit the pistol gripp anf "evil features or install a bullet button. If it we me I would ship parts kits ( again scrap metal) and magg separately. Sat the buikder has to build to federal and local rules and the builder should research local laws before completong their fire arm.

Recivers - flats - complete firearms should be ordered from someone else hipp and eill ship to CA FFLs that like that trade. Maybe separite orders shipments.

I would ship magg body in one box and springs and followers on another box on another day. Make it clear you are selling parts to repaire existing magazine that was alreday owned before the cutoff date. REPLACE PARTS KITS ONLY!!!
