I picked up a Chicom Type 53 Carbine how would you tighten up the beyonet it does not butt up tight to the rifle stock there a small gap,it like you need to add metal at the latch end thanks

The Type 53 rifles are well used and have several loose parts :wink_smal . Try removing the bayonet and reversing it 180 degrees on the pin mount area. This often helps to tighten it up as it is less worn on the opposite side..

Thanks I will give that a try,

I remove the bayonets and leave them off.

Problem is, if the Type 53 is anything like the M44, it is sighted in for use with the bayonet.
So if you take the bayo off, you have to sight it back in. Personally the carbines just annoy me, I can live with the recoil, but I'm not as accurate with them as I am with a 91/30. Might pick up an M44 though and work up a carbine load with a 150 grain bullet though, something that doesn't throw a huge fireball.

But, but, but, the fireball is half the fun!
