i need a mag for SKS

i had a chinese SKS i bought from a buddy. it came with a 20rd metal detachable magazine. i sold the detachable magazine and got a chinese 10 rd. factory box mag. only problem was the box mag would not fit. the trigger group is milled if that makes a difference. i filled the box mag where the front fits under the barrel, and it still did not fit. if you get the front in, then the back would hang a little too far back and you could not get it in. maybe with a hammer i guess, but never tried. i then sold the SKS back to my buddy because i needed a few bucks. a while latter i bought it back, as was the deal. but he lost the 10rd box mag.

so, now i am looking for another 10rd box mag, OR i might consider a 20 rd detachable mag. ANYONE know of a decent detachable mag, plastic or metal, in 20rd capacity. used or new. any source to purchase one would help. thanks.

ndm, What make SKS do you have? Yugo, Norinco, Romanian, Russian?

Norinco, chinese with a factory wood stock.

You'll have to use a Chinese magazine. There may be a difference between milled and stamped receivers and the magazines are fitted. The European magazines have a slightly different fit.

ndm: I found a couple of factory Norinco mags on Gunbrokers sight. But they are real proud of them. One 10 rounder, rusted, starting bid $15.00. And a couple of factory 20 rounders with a current bid of $70.00, Reserve not met!

I have 3 Norinco 10 round factory mags, and one of them I have no gun for. PM me and maybe we can work out a trade.
