it came with those and a set of pachys.

Very nice indeed, those grips really look good on it. Take some beating those 686's, we have one but the grips aren't as nice as those.

Heh, I'm a nursing student in my 20's, and guess what. My mother has a S&W 686 in .357 with a 6 inch barrel which she uses as her CCW. Occasionally she'll carry her little Taurus .38 spcl if space is a concern, but usually she can be found with her big S&W wheel gun in her purse. Conversely, I use a CZ VZOR-70 in 7.65 for my carry gun. With the right Hornady ammo, and it's inherent ability to put shots right in the kill zone, it's a great self defence gun.... but I still feel bad for anyone who pisses off my mother and has to stare down the barrel of her 686.

629 is N frame, 686 is L frame. (6 prefix=S.S.)
