Here's my Ishy 1943 91/30
Seems to be original, but has a refurbished stamp.
Think I should redo the wood?
Let's see those Mosins

Nice guns, but why ruin a nice gun by putting pads on the stock? I know they have some recoil! I have 3 Mosins.
swabbie
I was thinkin bout orderin 2 of those pads for my M44 and 91/30...as I recall, they just screw on.
I'm all about comfort, and wouldn't consider somethin like this mod to "ruin" an milsurp.

:uhoh_smal No offense meant, but i still have to laugh, when i remember a longtime member on the Mosin forum was Banned for life, for thinking about committing Sacrelidge for asking about mounting a scope and drilling the receiver!
Not only that but the Administrator also told all members not to deal with that company selling such sinful items! :laugh_sma
mosinutty
The Mosin I have pictured was modified for the sole purpose of presentation at the local shows for a service I will be offering. For all of my other Mosins I use a medium Limb Saver slip on pad. I'm just attempting to produce something that will appeal to those who like mil-surp alterations. Will see how it goes?:D
swabbie
yeah thanks for not takin offense..entirely too much of that goin on lately
I like every weapon I own, some of them are modified to suit my physical disability
to each his own
mosinutty
Some folks don't like other folks screw'n around with mil-surps. But it's a Mosin. not an 03-Springfield.:tongue_sm

Whatever someone does with their gun, is nobodys business! I use a shoulder
pad for my mosins, mainly the m-44 with 200gr. ammo will wear my shoulder out!
I never understood how a soldier could use a m-44 in combat! 5 rounds and i am done! But i can easily shoot 360 gr. in my .454 casuall with no prob. but know many who could not handle 1 or 2 rounds!
Black_Wolf
Nice shooters fellers!
Thanks for posting them. :cool_smal

Nice! With the snow it gives a winter war effect!

Here are some pics of the M38 I picked up last Thursday. I know you can't very well see the gun itself, but it's cool to see it in action.

I bought a Finn captured Russian from my local dealer for for 50 bucks otd. It was so rusted that I had to pound the steel cleaning rod down the bore to get the concretion broken up. It works, and shoots, but the recoil is unhealthy.

I had to take a video and then take a still shot from the video to capture it. No way could I actually time it that good to take a picture of it. If you had a better camera that you could adjust the shutter speed, then you could do it probably, which would be sweet because the resolution would be much better.
KEVAKOV
A 1944 M-39 Finnish Sako, I like to reload for this rifle , prvi partizan brass, IMR 4350 powder, Sierra matchking 174 gr BTHP , and Winchester primers. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii110/KEVAKOV/1944SAKO.jpg

Here's a pic of a 7.62x54r ammo belt I made the other day
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v220/Sadgeon/ammobelt.jpg
It holds 40 rounds, and there are four buttons on the back. The other strap is my M38, I wanted to see how it would fit together.

Really like the PEM mount.

all matching #s Ishy she was a dirty Russian bitch but I cleaned her up !
It kills me how a gun shop can put a gun on the rack for sale and the bore looks like it hasnt seen a patch in 10 years but the blueing looks great.
I cleaned the stock with paint remover and steel wool the old finnish was yellow and had runs all over.
Its dated 1942 theres a P and a E stamped on the stock and it drying now with its 4 coat of tung oil.

Very nice collection. I've yet to come across any that have the wood grain pattern on the one 2nd from the bottom.

Very nice rifles!
The fire at night pics are hilarious..... :laugh_sma
Impressive.
Not the best choice in "night fighting" rifles though.

That is a laminate wood stock. Common pattern for a lammy.
Black_Wolf
Nice shooters!
Love the grain on that one.
Too sweet

Yeah, I would keep it just the way it is.
Definately a keeper! :cool_smal
akjim
a thought on the german swazi carved on the rifle. Had a friend who was orginally from Lithuwania. They excaped the soviets at the end of WWII. Her father was drafted into the soviet army, defected with his unit to the german army after 41' and they ended up in the states at the end of the war..... shades of Cross roads a la Band of Brothers.
Shizzlore
Hey Junkmanted, just so you know, Minwax tung oil isn't tung oil at all, it's a mixture of linseed oil and varnish. But I wouldn't worry, I just refinished my M38 with the same stuff, and after 8 coats I thought it looked great.

Not to many Mosins here? Just started collecting these last year. I've got two. A 91/30 1944 Izzy, very clean and like new metal, all matching. and a M44 1947 Izzy, all matching, also clean and mounted into a ATI stock(don't worry, Nothing done that I can't take off/put back on and restore to original. Still have all the parts. Just wanted a shooter.) These are my favorite cheap rifles! Every time I have an extra hundred it's going towards my Mosin Collection:)
