View Thread: SLR-107UR Poly Side Folder Swap...

erh
Whats involved in this swap? Is it as simple as acquiring the Triangle Metal Stock, driving out the pin, and re-install? If not, what IS the proceedure?

Thanks all,

E!

Outstanding..! Next question... Who has a Triangle Stock for me & my new 107?;
I know there's 2 types, I need the RIGHT one...

:wink_smal :cool_smal ;)

FAL GRUNT
You are correct, all you need to do is drive out the pin and replace the stock.

Any of the triangle stocks will work. There is no... RIGHT one.

I would double check on US parts laws... unless you don't mind anal rape.

Thank you Sir,
I have sort of agreed to a similar deal w/ "Chris" from here on the
forum, but if that does not go through, I'll certainly contact you so
you and I can proceed...

PS - Why do YOU prefer the "Poly" stock; I just like the more "Compact"
appearance of the Triangle stock...

FAL GRUNT
I prefer the Poly stock because it does not get as cold in cold weather and I personally think it is more comfortable than the metal one.

I like the looks of the poly stock, think they look cool!!

I would double check on US parts laws
The rifle comes with six US parts installed. They are the three piece trigger group and the three stock set pieces. I would argue that the 107UR does not have a "muzzle attachment" as it ships from the factory. There is a barrel nut on the FS/GB, but since the barrel goes over four inches beyond the FS/GB, I don't see how it could be considered a muzzle attachment. It's not attached to the muzzle nor does it even cover the muzzle at all. I can't imagine someone at the ATF seeing it otherwise, but you unfortunately never know for sure. Assuming that I'm correct, the rifle only needs five US parts. Therefore, replacing the US buttstock with a foreign one would be OK. Here's a picture of my 107UR.

I'm in the process of making it an SBR, so I currently have it taken apart.

Not true, the Russian and Bulgarian folders use different size hinge pins, the Russian is slighty smaller.

Not exactly. The Bulgarian trunion on this rifle is made to accept a 4.5mm hinge pin. As a result, the Bulgarian folding stocks are made for 4.5mm hinge pins. Some Russian folding stocks are made for 4.5mm hinge pins and some are made for 5.5mm hinge pins.

Not true

The Russian hinge pins are 2 sizes. The Bulgarian hinge pins are only 1 size. So there is only 1 pin you could use.

The Russian hinge pins are LARGER than the Bulgarian.

You may want to reference my comparison guide for a more thorough explination:
