View Thread: Who also collects AK related gear?
Cerberus
I guess you can call me a gear junky. I got all kinds of old military junk laying around. My favorite stuff to mess around with is the old gear from the Soviet/Warsaw pact era. Anyone else got a decent collection to show off? If interested let me know and I'll get the wife's camera and try to photog my stuff and show off my meager collection.

I try and collect bayonets from all the diff countries that made them for AKs. Just picked up my Russian the other day. Fun stuff.

I only have 2 AK bayonets, an E.German and a Romy. Plan to add a couple more soon.
Etek
I have some E-German, Hungarian and Romy mag pouches, a couple of bayos, blank firing adapters and oil bottles. Some ammo chest rigs would be nice.

Found some at Cheaper Than Dirt :)

Etek, I went and checked those at the local gettin spot, and CTD is cheaper by a few bucks. I plan on ordering some things from CTD soon, and some ChiCom stuff will be in the order.

Coach

I am going to try to procure some AK74 Russian Izzy bayonets for my collection, as well as some slabside and bakelite mags.

Does anyone know if a Romanian AKM bayo will fit on the lug of a Romanian "G" build AK47? I am not, really, sure what differentiates the AKM from an AK47. Is it the .223 cal. vs. the 7.62 cal.? Mine is a 7.62 and the bayo I am thinking of buying is posted as an AKM bayo.
KernelKrink
The AK47 was the designation for the original milled receiver AKs, when they went to the stamped receiver it was redesignated the AKM, the "M" being Russian for "modernized". (no, I can't spell or pronounce the actual word) Older style milled Ak47s had a different bayonet attachment method, but if it has the standard lug on the sight base any AKM bayonet should fit it. The "G" is an AKM.

I almost bought a brand new Russian AK74 bayo at the last gunshow...all black.
115 dollars.
Decided to use my cash on other stuff...PPS43 stuff.
