View Thread: Zastava 7.62x51 (308) Mags
Klaus
If anyone can help; I am looking for one or two magazines for my Zastava AK-47. Would prefer 30 round mags for 7.62x51 ammo.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

FAIL.
The Yugo AKs are chambered for 7.62x39 or 5.56x45 EXCLUSIVELY.
The only real 308 AKs out there is the Saiga and VEPR, both Russian made.

You try calling here

See if he has any info He was suppose to import what was left of M-77 parts but I don't think he ever did. He was also suppose to contract the same company that converted cheap US copies of M-14 magazines to fit the M-77 for the original importer. The original Yugoslavian-made magazines are all 20 round magazines and are ribbed similar to FAL magazines. The copies that fit are usually blued steel M-14 copies. You might also try Galil magazines. I bought a couple of original M-77 magazines at a gun show. The seller thought they were L1A1 inch FAL magazines.

WRONG. Zastava does make .308 rifles but the mags are really hard to find. PA-Distributing probably won't have them but Longmountain Outfitters had a bunch at one time. They'll cost at least min. $50 bones. Make sure its an original Yugo factory made and not a convert or one of the mags Mitchell had made for them. I sold 6 or so a year ago and they brought $100 each. They are 20rd mags BTW. No factory 30rd .308 that I am aware of though Mitchell had some made but again not factory.

Funny, I just fired 100 rounds of .308 ammo using my Zastava 7.62x51 AK rifle.
