Does anyone remember the scopes that were made by Springfield Armory? I believe they were made in Japan. If so were they a quality scope?

Years ago I had one on a heavy barrel .308 bolt gun. It was a 4-14x56mm 1st gen. if memory serves. Range finding reticle and good glass, my only complaint was that it didn't have an adjustable objective.

They still make them and are on Generation 3, wth lighted reticle.
I have a generation 2 in the 4-14 power - damn decent scope that has not let me down to date.

i had one like 6-18x42 mil dot.alot like a nice bushnell.after a couple hundered rounds i noticed a piece of something in the corner of the reticle(i think it was a shaving from when threads were cut inside).i got a hold of s+w and they had me send the scope in with the origonal recipt and i got a full refund pronto.that time i bought a burris and have had no regrets.

Good to know they will stand behind their scopes if I need it, around 500 rounds downrange with no issues to date.

the scope still worked fine it just had that little fleck in the outside corner of the reticle.they said they would replace it but they no longer had that model.
