View Thread: cutting down M2 carbine stock

OK..got a nice M1 (slim ) stock for my Inland

now have a surplus M2 potbelly stock that I'm thinkin about cutting off right behind the pistol grip.

You can't give the stocks away, and I carried a similarly cutoff M2 as my personal aircrew weapon long ago.

will this violate any regs?

Legal as long as the overall length remains at least 26".

length will be 27+ inches... so I'm good

except the enforcer is a pistol, not a short barreled rifle, so is NFA exempt. It would be illegal to convert an M1 to that configuration without NFA stamp.

Not the short barrel but I have seen some carbine stocks cut so that the thin "wrist" of the stock was cut out and attached as a pistol grip similar to the Enforcer stock.
