AES-10 B carry handle

Does a real Romanian RPK's have these carry handles installed? I have a excellent condition Romanian RPK parts kit I am using for donor parts for the AES10 to make it more original. I noticed the lower handguard on the AES10 has been notched to fit the carry handle, not so on the original.

The carry handle mount was only tack welded to the barrel and fell off after one trip to the range. I'm wondering if it is worth trying to re-weld it to the barrel or if that will damage the barrel.

I don't like welding on barrels.

It looks like 1992 doesn't have a carry handle but 1993 has a carry handle. Maybe it's an option or depends on the factory.

In 1993 the options were 3 round burst with 4 position selector, carry handle, bakalite upper handguard, flash hider, scope rail and folding stock.

Mine is Romanian and it has the carry handle.

On my AES10b the carry handle is welded to the rear sight block, not the barrel.
