Bascot
Decided to move this out of the Makarov thread.
I had problems with the Nagant as far as accuracy was concerned, but today I blew through a box of (expensive but crappy) Hotshot wadcutters.
It took a while, but I am starting to get the hang of this gun. I'm not a revolver person, owning semiautos except the Bond derringer. It certainly is an antique design, and not near as accurate as the Mak Russian 9mm, but interesting on it's own. It's hard to get used to cocking the hammer for every shot, and doesn't have much of a kick, but the bottom line is lack of quality ammunition. It is possible to get acceptable accuracy with enough practice, but I'd rather practice with FMJ, or at least jacketed hollowpoint than these wadcutters. And at $26.00+ a 50 round box plus shipping, it costs more than 7.62 X either 39 or 54r. I could shoot tracer rounds of either of those for less than this crap. If anybody stumbles into any Russian ammo of this caliber (7.62 X 38r Nagant) please PM me. 250 - 500 rounds would be an extremely useful purchase.
