View Thread: Romy 5.45 Krink
FAL GRUNT
Thought I would post some pictures of my Romanian 5.45 Krinkov type rifle kit. I believe it would be an AIMR?
The kit I have put together so far

I am trying to decide whether to use a Romanian trunnion and replace the bullet guide or use a Polish 5.45 trunnion and bore out the trunnion.
Any suggestions (allesennogwat) as far as compatibility.
Also need to find a Romy 5.45 steel mag.

Dude, I just saw some Romy steel mags somewhere.
I'll get back to ya when I remember where.

I’ve got a like new 30 rounder. I put 30 round throw it yesterday. The one and only time it’s ever been used.
Got anything to trade? What’s it worth?

FAL- I BELIEVE... (at least in my MASAMI TOKOI ak book)
that the lower HG is supposed to be the wooden pistol grip version. Id think itd look pretty cool like that too, the pics in the book show a romanian holding one during the revolution of 89, and they are pretty cool with that type of lower.
IN fact, ive seen a couple pics of that day, and several soldiers had them. I think they mustve been special forces or something, cuz youd think those were rarely issued....
anyhow, bad ass. always wanted one..

Kinda like this one? I'm thinking of SBR'ing this one just by cutting off two small welds holding on that 4" break.

levi, there is much speculation about the "correctness" as most pictures I have seen have no stocks, folders, solid stocks, a mix of standard and pistol grip handguards, and a mix of muzzle brakes.
This is all from pictures of the 89' revolution.

This seems to be a new production rifle with-out a pistol grip.
Photo's from a sight on the Romanian Revolution

The problem with the pictures in the above thread is the difficulty identifying stocks and magazines (ie what is it chambered for). Some look like underfolders which to me would indicate that they are 7.62.
I couldn't find my picture of 2 Romanian Police officers with AIR's (5.45) with no buttstocks. Maybe another day.

Last one I saw was in the marketplace. Unfortunately that is probably your best bet... surfing marketplaces. Searching gun broker.
You might find a Draco pistol.

A little off topic but doesnt the guy in the last picture of the revolution on the far right knealing, look as if he's handing out birthday cake? I kinda laughed when i saw it. It looks like a sliced sheet cake on the ground. REVOLUTION!! WHO WANTS CAKE???

I got it , now I just used one of none G kits to build on and do SBR , the question was ,I saw the photo and think the sidefolder is fold left side of gun , not right side, anyone has real pictures of guns from the war ?
FAL GRUNT
Is your barrel 7.62 or 5.45?
The 7.62 rifles I have seen usually have a underfolder stock while the 5.45 have a right side folding wire stock.
There are some pics above from the 1983 revolution. Haven't been able to find many more.
