Hopefully today with the Internet, there is a Russian arms plant worker or armorer or Russian service rifle armorer or ex armorer around that we could field some questions to.
Here are some of the questions:
1. Disregarding general weapon design....what are the quality control standards to which Russian service rifle weaponry are built and how do those standards relate to the weapons now being produced for export to civilian markets specifically the VEPR and Saiga lines. Are these export weapons built to the same, lesser or greater standard and can you in some way describe this standard that would provide some understanding of the same.
2. What are the barrel and chamber dimension standards the Saiga and VEPR lines are held to in production. What are the go no go chamber standards for the military weapons and are they the same for the VEPR and Saiga weapons.
3. Are all export weapons chambered to a military specification chamber and what military specification standard are they chambered to.
4. Are virtually all the barrels produced for the Saiga and VEPR line hammer forged and what are the general quality control tolerances of these hammer forged barrels destined for export.
We are enjoying these weapons a great deal but understanding what standards and specifications they are manufactured to (design specifications withstanding) helps us to understand the weapon and it capabilities and potential.
If any of you know who these questions could be answered by or if you can answer any of them yourself .....it would be appreciated.
Postings would be appreciated but if more specific questions should be directed more appropiately then please advise.
Inquiring minds would like to know :)
thank you in advance
