View Thread: 3 point slings; Dig em? or not so much?

I wanted to put a simple Russian AKM sling on my AK pistol. No one has one they want to sell me, so I ended up rummaging in my junk box to see if I had something that would suffice until the AKM sling surfaces.

I came up with a few "assault" or "3 point" slings. I never really fancied any of these things, never got acustomed to using them. They seem like they might be the cat's pajamas for my pistol though. What do you all think about these gizzies?

IMNSHO the 3 point sling is just slightly better than the old issue kind. I prefer a good 2 point style like the Vickers, with it's quick adjust system.

got no use for them. Just a carry strap of length so the weapon sits hands-free at the ready.

Yeah,

What GP said... Function over form... Looking cool, like all the neat people, and thinking you're fast doesn't mean crap if you can't move and shoot and sling choice here has LITTLE to do w/ that if you're practical.... Like watching a monkey "F" a football when these Mall Ninjas put a 3 pointer on that disaster know as an AR15... Mite as well put hooks all over youself....

My guns hang on a simple piece of nylon webbing around my thick ass neck and head like a necklace attached to the front and back of the gun... Cheap, practical, and effective... Nuff said!

I like it on my FAL, the one I use is very easy to adjust and quick to change positions. That said I have a single point sling for the AK, wouldn't think of putting a 3 point on it.

Never tried one, but they don't appeal to me.
