I have a good friend who has a good friend (yeah, I know how it sounds) who has two crates of AKs that my friend says are Russian. I am skeptical about the Russian part, but not about the two crate part. Purchased many moons ago and part of a substantial collection..

I will find out the details later tonight, but in the meantime, are there Russian AKs here on form six?
Oh, and no, not for sale.

Thanks for any input.

No Russian semi auto AK's were ever imported except for SAIGA sporting rifles.

If they were imported prior to the 1989 import ban, they could be Egyptian (imported by Steyr in Secaucus NJ), Hungarian (imported by Kassnar, NOT KBI), Yugoslav (imported by American Arms and Mitchell Arms), or Chinese (imported by a bunch of people).

That's it. No other countries imported AK's prior to the cut off in 1989.

Post '89 imports:

Egyptian
Chinese
Hungarian (KBI)
Romanian
Bulgarian
some Yugoslav
