any one else have one of these? what are your thoughts? Im not real pleased with mine. I purchased it a couple of weeks ago and put about 150 rounds through it. the triger pull and travel is long and heavy, it shoots about 2 feet lower than I aim and it doesnt have adjustable elevation. I cant get better than about a foot and a half groop at about 10-15 yards. not to mention that after the day of shooting I had a huge blister on my thumb from the hard plastic frame rubbing on my thumb durring recoil.
did I get a bad one or do they all suck?

They all suck at least your firing pin did'nt break at 70 rounds. Sell and move on!

Some of the Sigma's are really bad. The newer gray colored ones are supose to be better but not much. It's hard to get much money for them. For hi cap magazines 40 caliber Steyr magazines can be made to work in the Sigma by cutting a new slot in the magazine for the Sigma mag catch. Unless it's a gray one it's likely not worth it though. I think the newer ones are "V" models or maybe "E" models. Usually they are cheap enough to keep with the spare tire in case of a flat.

Well gents I geuss it's better than a sharp stick! I sold my Sigma and never looked back.

I happen to like mine a lot, and mine will ALL outshoot my Glock 19. I have the older models, a 40V, 9V, and a 357V. The 357 especially is very accurate, on a par with my G20 and Sig 229 (357) at 25 yards. I shot a Keltec PF9 yesterday, and the Sigmas trigger is infinitely better than the Keltec. The PF9 gets harder the more you pull, the Sigma gets easier. And the trigger can be easily fixed, search for the 25 cent triggerjob. Mine are all standard, I like them that way.
If you shoot low, you are probably jerking the trigger.

I had a .40 VE Sigma for awhile...trigger pull is long...I eventually got a S&W M&P 40 which I love to death, most accurate pistol I've ever shot. I sold the Sigma to a friend who'd shot it with me and loved it. To me, it's all about--can you adjust to the heavy trigger pull and still be accurate? If you can--as my friend did--they are a good gun, inexpensive and reliable as hell. For me, I got my pistol for life in the M&P series--fits me like a glove and accurate as hell...and its reliable.
Hope that helps.

The V and VE models are the newer versions which don't seem to have as many problems as the first ones but can still have some issues.

mine is the VE moddel. or I should say was...
I took it to a couple shops today trying to see what they would give me for trade and no one would give me more than 200 bux for it.
the last shop I was in the owner of the store told me I would be better off selling it private party because I could easily get over 300 for it.
a gentleman in his late 50's started asking me about it and as I was headin out the door he said hang on let me give you my number give me a ring if you decide to sell it.
I said what you thinkin youd give for it. he said 300 I said. Ill sell it for 300 right now. he pulled out his money clip gave me 3 nice new bills and I handed him the case. and we parted ways.
worked out perfect!!! I lost 40 bux on the gun. no biggie compaired to the $140 I would have lost trying to trade it.
now back to shopping. Im really leaning twards the springfield XDM40 but I dunno if I want to spend an extra 300 bux.
I could just put my money back in the bank but now Ive got a empty holster and about 150 rounds of 40. ammo sitting in the closet taunting me. haha
now what am I gona do when my 2 spare mags come in the mail? LOL maybe I can trade em for a box of ammo at one of the gun stealerships.

I have a SW40VE and have found it quite serviceable. its a Glock with a not so great trigger. I have found mine to shoot a touch low for some reason but nothing like you describe. I have handled a few different models of these between mine, friends guns and rentals. as a rule of thumb the earlier F and C models had worse triggers(if you can believe that) and also had reliability problems. the V models were more reliable. the VE models and up seem to be very decent if you can adjust to the trigger. as a note, the more leverage you get on the trigger the better they seem to shoot. my brother positions his finger really high on the trigger & has tons of problems shooting even the newer ones. he cant even get mine to go bang half the time. I believe the VE model was when they added the accessory rail. I have seen a couple models newer than my VE that were also very good. they came out with the G models that seem to have refined the trigger a little further but were that ugly green. they also made a P model with a ported barrel that I wish I had bought. the ported one rivals the Glock down to the trigger.
I must say that I have never had one single problem out of my Sigma. no ftf, fte, broken parts..nothing. this is my work truck/carry gun. I work in very dusty conditions a lot & my truck stays filthy. this gun has been the AK of pistols for me and routinely fires while full of crud with 100% reliability through several hundred rounds. she doesnt get cleaned much & ALWAYS goes bang.
