WHAT? An AK forum thats friendly and helpful? It can't be true! Next thing you know there'll be a nice place to go talk about FALs and such! So to be the first here, which one is better, AK or FAL?

Well 9337yankee,since you asked,and remember this is a subjective question,
IMHO,I prefer the FAL first,AR's second,and AK's third.But remember thats just
one persons opinion.YMMV! :small_gri

dont know.. dont have an AK... although today Stoney offered to help me build an akfal... since he has already refined the process.... kinda kewl, a new use for that dreaded aluminum receiver.

Which is better, AK or FAL? Well, on the AK, they got most of it right, like the gas port size (don't need an adjustment), and some things they made for the grunt, not the guys punching paper that doesn't shoot back. It's not intended to rebuild or modify, and really not a carrier for all the attachments you can hang on it.
On the FAL, they started right (7.92x33mm, for instance), but a committee got hold of it, and you see where that went.
It depends on what you want out of a rifle. Just be glad you have the option to choose.
