View Thread: shotgun capacity laws in NH
knall
I just got a remington 870 used. It had a plug in the feed tube to restrict the # of rounds to 2. I assumed this was due to a hunting regulation the previous owner was adhering to.
A local told me that there was a LAW (not a gaming regulation) that restricts the capacity of shotguns to 2 rounds. I think he is mistaken.
Anybody got there NH gun law book handy?

Doesn't help any, but that sounds like a shotgun that has been plugged for hunting. Here in Kentucky, that's the law, and in many other states.

Just plugged for hunting I'd guess too. Fed laws for hunting migratory birds I think is two. Small game is different from state to state.

Three rounds max for ME and NH when hunting migratory birds, 5 in Maine for all other hunting. All our shot guns are plugged.

The intent of my question was to know if I was allowed to have 10 rounds for home defence, skeet shooting, pest contol ect.

"There is no limit to the size or capacity of a magazine in New Hampshire, the
only limitation is engineering and your physical strength, can you carry a 5,000
round mag?!"
