View Thread: AES-10B questions

A friend and I are thinking about buying a couple of the AES-10Bs and we had a few questions. Who is making the receivers that they are being built on? In the pictures I've seen, they also appear to be the reinforced type receivers, correct? And we're assuming U.S. made FCGs? Are they the Tapco G2 or some other type? I've also heard about some problems with magazines and drums. Anything complicated or just something we can fix with the Dremel?

Thanks for any info.

I believe the receivers are Romanian.
The FCG are tapco.
My magwell was cut beautifully. perfectly centered and all mags and drums are TIGHT.
The wood on mine is not laminated like I expected, but will clean up really well.
Mine did not have the adjustable rear sight:( can't seem to find one either.
Some people are complaining about the bipod not being original. Looks good to me though. I like the fact that it is removeable.
I paid 471.00 for mine including shipping and tax. included 2 40 round mags.

Just saw ad "Valmet M78A2 .308 Caliber," Class III Machine Guns, List Price$11,995.00. Sure makes the AES-10B from Classic @ $399 look like a great buy. Other than FA, I fail to see the difference. Thought I'd post this for info.

Just got the AES-10B the other day. Looks good. Mag opening is cut nice and tight. The only little bugaboo that I see is that the front sight might be "slightly" canted. It might also just be me being paranoid. I need to mount it in a sighting vise and check it out for sure. The best part - $428 including shipping and transfer fee.
