Have my eye on a AK47 hunting rifle with a Polytech milled receiver and a 20" barrel. Does anyone have any info, thoughts or discussion on this rifle??

It's designed after the Galil hunter, a rare and special gun. The Norinco hunters seem to be going for $300-400 depending on need to sell and condition. They're also popular for Galil/Valmet projects.
If you just want an AK to hunt with and want the classic shape, check out the Russian Saigas. Available in three calibers: 223, 7.62x39mm, and 308. 20" barrels should be findable for the latter two, and for the 308 especially.
The Norinco Hunter was patterned after the Valmet Hunter M/88 and so was the Galil Hunter rifle.

I'm sorry, I meant to say Valmet Hunter. I've never heard of a Galil hunter. Just a short circuit in the brain I guess.

Go to this thread. There are several posts about hunting with an AK.
Why the 7.62X39?
