here is a M39 Finnish Mosin, 1944 SAKO. A very nice war time rifle, and I'm reloading my own ammo for it. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii110/KEVAKOV/100_0613.jpg

This is one of about five thousand M39's built from 1967 thru 1972. It has a 1968 barrel !!!!!! http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii110/KEVAKOV/100_0560.jpg

Cool guns guys. I am going to town today to pick up a alternator for my wifes truck so I might have to pick up a rifle for my trouble. :)
BadKarma
Picked up a 91/30 made in 1943 in pretty good shape and some ammo. Hope to shoot it tomorrow.

Mosins are cool. :cool_smal Nice pictures!
Any of you guys have any opinions on the best 7.62x54 milsurp ammo available out there?

Bulgarian,Czech,Russian,Hungarian,Polish, they are all good.Just clean out your chamber real good to prevent sticky bolt syndrome
BadKarma
I cleaned mine and still had the bolt stick. When I got it out the case just above the rim was slightly bulged. I took the rifle back and got another one. Same thing only not as bad. As I was cleaning it tonight, I noticed that after awhile the patches started feeling loose and had to use a larger patch. I was using the copper colored case yellow and lead colored "heavy loads" not sure of the make. Just know its surplus. Do you think I just did not clean it good enough and the tighter diameter in the barrel upped the chamber pressure?

I had the same problem with my 91/30 when I first got it.I had to use a 20 GA. wire brush screwed on to a cleaning rod, inserted the cleaning rod into my drill, on low speed I reamed out my chambered for a few minutes. It worked,I could shoot with no problems now.Just don't push the brush in too far.(stay away from the bore)
BadKarma
Thanks I also used a 20 gauge bore brush but I did not use my drill.(too lazy to go to the garage and get it) We'll see how it does this weekend.
