View Thread: Can you rent full auto?

Elkaholic
I’m sure I’m going to catch hell for this question but I have to ask. I think I’ve read about machine gun clubs that have shoots. Do they rent out full auto for a guy like myself that would love to shoot one legally? I would never convert one of mine. It would be cool to shoot a clip or two.

LuzRD
i know of a range here in NH that rents them (on site of course), not sure about near wherever you are though.
and yes its fun, and dont bring more money than your willing to spend HAHAHA

My local range has an

M16
MP5
Grease gun
Thompson .45
Uzi 9mm

and a couple more I can't remember right now. All for rental at their range.

I rented an mp5 in PA last year. Definitely an experience. Shoot something 9mm it's cheaper and you still get the effect.

Cant even own FA where Im at, but other places yea. KCR had a line for rentals only, but they were getting around a buck a round. Indoor range I went to in Orlando had sub guns starting cheap, like $25 or something, but then you had to buy ammo. MP5 kinda fun wont last long on two boxes of ammo.

Elkaholic
WOW… replies cam in about as fast as FA. LOL. I’m in Oregon, anyone know of a range in Oregon?

Thanks.

Use the link and you can search a national registry by state. I live in NY but this is how I found that place in PA. A local google search might also do the trick.

SGN has adds for rental ranges in Pa too. Mabey thats a good source for Or.

Vegas advertises all the time. Can't remember the store but they even have
community complexes when you buy you get a gun range, vault etc... just like
a golf coarse community. I remember back when their commie neighbor was
outlawing all evil guns they offered really cheap vault storage in one of the communities close to the border.

Thats where I go when down south, cheap shooting...well aside from ammo.

The guy workin was cool too. My wifes a little gun shy, more so back when I went there, he calmed her down and let her watch of the security camera so she new I wouldnt shoot my eye out or anything like that. Fun times.

Save up for a trip.... Atleast the camping is cheap.

All three times we were there, well it was pretty freakin touch and go so far as safety went.

Alot of brits and irish there, on vacation - pointing muzzles everyplace.

We were sitting there waiting to get onto the range...when a few come out and were pointing their pistols at people on the seats in the little row by the range door...saying "putting em up"...

Then one dropped his pistol on the floor.

I told him flat out, aim that at me again and I will shoot back. Another guy, local I guess, blew up and starting yelling at them until the guys at the front told the brits to turn in their rental pistols and leave.

Inside the range a couple of PR's or Cubans who "brought their own" were trying to figure out how to load it....

Great place, but a little iffy and no range master at all...

That said I have run about 1000 rounds through that place, MP5,COLT 9mm M-16, Thompson, and he even let me shoot the Mac (which they usually do not let anyone shoot (check the cieling in the range for the answer why LMAO :uhoh_smal :small_gri

Yea he told me he had had problems in the past, fortunately there was only one other dude there with onea those keltec pea shooters when I went and he left when I started dumping 1911 mags. He said his safety feature was locking you in like that, so if you kill eveyone inside your still there when the cops show up. He mentioned that recently he had somebody who thought it was funny to spray everyone elses targets with onea the subs.

Was the first time I ever shot a real gun, kimbers 1911. I had asked for a colt and I thought it was a cheapie knock off that he pawned on me, shows how much I knew about guns then. Tried his crome desert eagle 44 too, but the damn firing pin was broke or something because the hammer droped evertime but never fired. Talk about idiots tryn to figure out how to load it, I must looked like a tard fighting with that monster slide to rack it on a new round and fire, like 5 times before giving up. He gave me my money back and a short 44 revolver to use up the mag I'ld bought.

Vegas has three of them at least, most are indoor and subgun only I think and the last one has rifles. I saw the M-14 on display. When I was there I got too drunk on free beer and a drink that was new to me called the long island iced tea. I sat/laid in my room instead of visiting Hoover Dam and going machine gune shooting. Second time to vegas=same thing, just Corona's. Third time it will not happen, I WILL SHOOT! It was in Small Arms Review, it sat in my travel bag while I puked. City of Henderson, Nevada. Just south of Vegas.

That is hysterical. Sounds like something that I would have done. :)

You should attend a MG shoot - we just got back from one @ Cheyenne Wells CO. Was renting out stuff from Macs to BF's. Had my MG47's there too (not-for-rent)

Anything from an MG42 to a Minigun if you could afford it; AK's were around .80 per rd

I just shot an MP5 at my local range. One hundred rounds goes fast!

It was my first time shooting full auto, man what a rush. They've also got:

Uzi
Thompson
Grease gun
Sten
MP40
and a few other full autos I can't remember.

I found the guy that I think is going to hook me up with a few clips… I’m talking about 100% legal. I’ve got that warm fuzzy feeling. I hope it really comes true…

I've been to a few ranges around the country that rent full auto, mainly in Manchester NH and Phoenix AZ (Scottsdale Gun Club is amazing), check out;

I'm pretty sure you can rent full autos at Red Jackets range in Baton Rouge.
