Ok, i just ordered one of the classicarms.us $379 Century AES-10B "RPK's" with 2 40 rounders shipped for under 400 bucks!

Im really waiting to see what the catch is, thats about the same price as a slightly overpriced WASR!

Ill take pictures and compare it to my RPK kit and post results when it comes in.

I ALMOST went with the Yugo M72 for 100$ more from JGsales, but i just really dont like the idea of those green mountain barrels, the cooling fins are a nice touch though.

What's wrong with the Green Mountain barrels ?
By the way I love RPKs too. Have a Yugo M72 kit
and am looking at the Century one too, let us know
about its pros and cons (with pics please !)

I bought one today. Price jumped to 399 though! But I saw the new picture below and its one of the wide trunnion models which I really wanted (heavy barrel).

Ok, today i was able to take it out and shoot it, it also appears the price is now higher on classic's site, but anyway.

Ill try and take some pictures tonight.

First the rifle itself, the "catches" seem to be the fact that the muzzle nut is tacked in place with a small spot weld under the muzzle to the FSB, the retention pin and threads are there though. The bipod is also a pin/hinge removable type from a PKM or something, not like the EG RPK bipod i have with my Yugo M72.

The trunion is bulged and the recievor is the thicker type with no mag dimples, the rear trunion is the propper RPK style as well with no relief cuts or plunge milled holes as is the recoil spring (plunger type) and the front sight base also RPK propper and the cleaning rod ring and rear sight (adjustable for windage) as well. The barrel is also the correct heavy RPK profile and is chrome lined and romanian orriginal.

The things that i noticed that can be plusses or minuses are that the recievor is "bumped" on both sides at the bottom of the trigger axis pin like an AK-74, and there is a carry handle. These two features are i guess the the romanian "RPKM" or modernized design showing through. The top cover is the smooth thicker and non-ridged type like on the Yugos and real RPK's, It also has a side scope rail.

I fired the rifle today from 100 yards and it was crazily accurate from the bipod, it outshot my Yugoslavian AK and all shots were well within a piece of paper at 100.
Overall i would say its very good, im still doubting not getting the Yugo though.
