My M44 was made in Hungary in 1953. I was wondering if there is a dime's worth of difference from the Russian ones available now, or other country of origin.

I've heard good things about the Hungarian and the Polish M44's.Anything that differntiates from Tula/Izhevsk makes them a lil more collectible.

As in all firearms it depends on production by year (scarcity), matching numbers, wood and bore condition. Right now with all the Russian rifles available the other variants..., Chinese, Romanian, Polish and Hungarian are a bit more money.
