Sorry, but I know a couple of gun owners from other boards that are more than willing to vote for kerry, no matter his stand on firearms. There are idiots everywhere.

lets look at it this way if the "1994 DOMESTIC"AWB expires, what will change, you can have a "FOLDING STOCK, BAYONET LUG, FLASH HIDER" on your domestic Assault Weapon and imported CLONES, if the AWB is extended, you will not have the above, but you can still purchase Assault Weapons, anytime, all day long (expired or extended), this ban is all cosmetic, THATS ALL. The "1989 Imported AWB" is the REAL Ban on the real BAD A$$ AW (Galil, Fal,AUG,UZI,Com Block AK's,SIG 550,HK36) and it is not going away. Both parties knows this is only a "cosmetic ban" so they don't care. Import AW Ban is still on, this is the Ban that is worth arguing about.

Too much confusion. The 1989 ban was a import halt on "non-sporting guns" then later in november of 1990. The foreign parts count. Which is a amendment to the gun control act of 1968. Which in turn opened up the dem's with their own amendment to the GCA the dreaded 10 year ban. These are one in the same. Come monday their is no real victory. Just another line in the sand. I think I hear RATM. WAKE UP

One of the sad facts is that there are plenty of gun owners out there who would also support the ban. The AWB is a directed assault on our rights using the proven technique called "divide and conquer". They chose a topic that many gun owners know little about and propagandized the population into thinking that "assault weapons" were extremely nasty and not viable for anything but blowing people away. Even the majority of gun owners fell prey to their deceit.
We have done well by educating the masses to the true nature of "assault weapons" and have proven to them that they are not the terribly vicious weapons that they were led to believe. We must continue to do so.
