I've done a few. Have another in the wings and a AMD-63 on the way. Way cool guns and a hoot to shoot. Surprisingly accurate.

Did you build them as a SBR or use the FAC extension?

Got my extensions from Troy before FAC screwed him.

Danno built his last week, I think we are going to build mine as a dealer sample, well just because. Danno's turned out very nice, works great, and a whole lot cheaper to build than to buy already put together, more fun too. Dan.

Thanks

I built one. Haven't shot it yet though. Its pretty rough, it was my first build and I made a few mistakes that took some serious WECSOGing to fix. I used an Ace Arms receiver blank for the build. I bought the FAC barrel extension for mine.

FAC did not screw Troy. They were working on a deal where Troy was going to make them and FAC was going to sell them.
They couldn't get together on the numbers, so Troy started selling them himself, and FAC found someone else to make them for them.
It's not like it was some sort of patented item. It's a hunk of steel with a hole in the middle, male threads on one end and female on the other. Anybody with a lathe could crank one out in 15 minutes
Mark,
The extension is from Troy and the brake is from RPB

Built mine with a FAC barrel extension and a Vulcan Arms rec. The stock is fixed, but it'll be workable after the AW ban sunsets. It's riveted at the rear trunnion, screwed at the trigger guard and welded at the barrel trunnion. I built it for shooting, not for oohing and aahing. The purists may not like the method, but I'm damn happy and going to use the same method on a Polish underfolder next. I'd post a picture, but I don't have a web hoster yet.

m1950,
if you want to email me the pic I could put it on some web space I have and post it here for you. Just let me know.
I was able to shoot an AMD-65 back in August, it was fun to shoot but seemed a little louder than I was expecting. Not sure if it was the muzzle brake or ??? Either way they are interesting looking.

Thanks for the offer to post. I'll get a picture out to you later.
The AMD is louder, and it is the muzzle brake in conjunction with the shoprter barrel. Even with the FAC barrel adapter. I had it and a Norinco MAK 90 out today, and the volume was very noticeable.

7.62X39 you don't know the facts do you? We had an agreement after I sent them the sample. I even refered people to them after I was asked to make them. I had 100 units ready to ship and couldn't even get a return phone call. A couple of weeks later they started selling their own. Of course they copied my sample. They didn't send the sample back till after I asked them abut it.They didn't even bother to haggle over the price or say no thanks. Shitty business I would say. I'll purchase nothing else from them.

Troy,
I stand corrected.
From your posts that I read on the other board, it sounded like a much more amicable separation.
I apologize for the misinformation, and I will keep that in mind, should I be tempted to have any future dealings with them.

This is what I am talking about in my previous thread. Get the grenade launcher extension and it'll be all original.

I built an AMD-69 for a customer. It was the ultimate in cool. We couldn't locate the correct muzzle device. Anybody know where to get one?
(7.62x39) I've always bought from them and had great service. Most people didn't know the story.I know this was a minor thing but they could have at least called.

A few years ago I bought a couple of SA2000s when they
were cheap. They had the short gas tube and muzzle brake
from the AMD-65. It's the brake that causes them to sound
loud. They also blast a lot of gas onto the shooters on each
side of you.

Troy, I would love to know too. I got a few barrel extensions from you and they are great. Building a -69 lookalike would also be cool. After Lois from Centerfire offered us great prices I weakened and bought another -65 kit for the heck of it.
