View Thread: WTK Galil markings

I have a Gaili by ORF, it does not have the Hebrew markings on the left side, as other ORF rifles do. Is this an earlier production. Thanks, Jerod

Could be newer or older. I have one of each but the Hebrew marked one was sent to Angela for engraving and built by InRange. I know ORF sells "bare side" receivers so you can get them engraved how you like.
I'd have check out their web sight to see if they sell pre-engraved Hebrew receivers/ rifles as well.

What's the big deal of having Hebrew markings on the receivers? I have 2 pre ban IMI Galils straight from the promised land, and neither of them have any Hebrew on them. Sounds like a selling gimmick to me.

It's called 'preference'.
No gimmick.
Some people want to build a Galil as close to the military version as possible.
Including the cosmetics.
As I recall, ORF provided these receivers due to numerous requests and strong demand from Galil enthusiasts.
The AK Forum did a run of 78 Galils (SER II) that had all the military markings...including the crest. Very cool unique pieces.

I did. Then I responded to the post.
"What's the big deal of having Hebrew markings on the receivers?"
"Sounds like a selling gimmick to me."
I addressed both those points. Rather well, I thought. :wink_smal

DS,
Os did answer that just fine, same as I would have sorta.
Guys,
For better clarification, there is no rhime or reason on markings coming out of my shop on recs. Early models can be well pointed out by my makrings on the left side approx middle rec, we have not done those in about a year. Bare side and Hebrew marked have been the demand and we only run those now, and for serials they vary back and forth, cause we'll run x of then x the other, and so forth. If you did not follow that, ALL ORF 223 Galil recs have the same serial number sequence no matter what they are or when produced. You could have a micro at serial RFG01100, and own a std rec bare at RFG01101, and a Hebrew marked at RFG01206. I have emailed Jerod on his gun, which brings me to another point I forgot to tell Jerod in which GP points out well. A mfg building your gun on 100% supplied parts does not have to mark it with his info if he doesn't want to, this is really a "this is who built it mark", , and were work/craftsmanship warranties apply IMHO. Then there is the home assembler, again no markings required if they assembled it for there use, if they decide to sell then, well...... Yes, gun only bares my info, but does not mean I built it, and we can track darn near all of them by serials and how they were sold.
DS,
Sorry if I got of track, but its still on the marking subject and may clarify alot of peoples opinions of guns they think we assembled by "markings" in which the topic was.
